Course maps for the 2011 Empire State Winter Games. On Friday Junior, Senior, and Masters men will ski a 10 km sprint (3.3 km loop), while all other classes will race 7.5 km (2.5 km loop). Saturday’s race will be a relay format race (you will compete on your own, not part of a team).
The Empire State Winter Games are ON! Many of you may have heard that New York State cancelled the games because of budget cuts. The 2010 NY Biathlon Championships will be held at the Saratoga Biathlon Club this weekend. Saturday morning will feature a sprint race, and on Sunday there will be a 3 x 6 km relay. In order to compete you must pre-register through skireg.com. There will not be Day of Race registration. Registration closes
The Saratoga Biathlon Club cleaned up at the 2010 Empire State Games, winning a total of 22 medals. Saratoga had 14 athletes who won at least one medal. The second race at the 2010 Empire State Games featured three repeat winners from Friday’s sprint race. Saturday’s race was an individual relay, with all skiers competing on the same 6 km course.
