The junior biathlon clinic scheduled for tomorrow 5/25 has been cancelled due to the weather. We may try to reschedule this for the summer or fall. The junior shooting clinic set for 6/8/13 in Old Forge is still on, and everyone can now register for the summer biathlon race the next day on 6/9/13 at:

The Polar Bear Biathlon Club is preparing to host a modified pursuit biathlon race on June 9th at the McCauley Mountain Ski Center. Sport and Competition Classes are available for all racers. The race course will be almost entirely on the Nordic trails. Prizes will be awarded for the top three in each class. First The NYSSRA Nordic Biathlon Junior Development Committee is pleased to announce that we will continue to provide clinic, training, and racing opportunities throughout the year to experienced Nordic skiers who are interested in getting involved with biathlon as their schedules permit. The goal is to get them involved early and give them opportunities to learn We will be having our nyb and nyssra spring meeting in a few weeks. So if you have any input from our recent winter season, or topics you want voted on, please e-mail me at n.gretzinger@lmco.com by Sunday 24 March. With all the votes tallied, Stephen Wilson has been voted in as ny biathlon volunteer of the year. Steve is a level II biathlon official, was instumental in getting CRNA biathlon off to a great start, and even volunteered at the 2012 Vancouver Olympics. For all his service, Steve gets a $50 gift card to We just wouldnt be able to have our races without the tireless efforts of our volunteers. We will be recognizing the NY Biathlon Volunteer of the Year at the upcoming NYB Championship races this weekend. I will be taking votes this year. If you raced or volunteered during the 2012-3 season, you can vote. One vote per Race 3/2: Ann Jardin Fund Raiser The race is on! Ann Jardin, a regular at past biathlon events has traded her biathlon rifle in for a shot gun and has been competing – quite successfully – in national and international trap competitions. Ann has her sights set on the Olympics in Rio, we have a A beautiful day in Lake Placid with a very light wind and temperatures right around freezing. A big thanks to all the competitors for coming out and especially to all of the officials, volunteers, and ORDA staff that make this event happen. Combined pursuit results can be found here and stand-alone pursuit event results A windy day at Mt. Vanhoevenberg made for a challenging shooting day but 38 competitors ground it out. Results for the sprint event can be found here. Tomorrow’s race is a pursuit format with forecast of calm winds and temperatures right around freezing. The start list & zero assignments are available here. CRNA will have a wk end of ind’l relay events the 16/17 of February.
