Being that the ESG biathlon event has been cancelled, The ESG organizing folks say that any biathlon registration fees already paid can be rolled over to participate in ESG XC and they will take care of doing that in the XC roster. No need to re-register online. Just be sure to email Kathy Phofl at

Despite some hopeful conditions at Van Hovenburg earlier this week, and a herculean effort to pull off the event by the Lake Placid staff.. The able bodied biathlon event is cancelled. Rain last night melted all the snow. Conditions are unlikely to improve over the next few days. Conditions at Van Hovenburg / Lake Placid are marginal but as of right now the Empire State Games are still on. Van Hovenburg got a couple of inches over the weekend and they only need a few more inches of snow for good conditions. A final decision will be made on Wednesday. Also, registration for biathlon Due to the poor snow conditions and the general lack of snow, the Polar Bear Biathlon scheduled for January 29th at McCauley Mountain has been canceled. It should be noted that the BKSL biathlon that was scheduled to take place after our biathlon is still schedule to take place. The pellet gun biathlon will take place at Given that Osceola was the only place in the state that seemed to have snow, everyone came! We had a record crowd of 43 people, with around 13 novices. Rifles will be available for athletes in these classes. There The Syracuse Biathlon club race is on this weekend! Online registration closes at 5:00pm today, Friday.
